We are currently seeking a fulltime Caretaker to work on long term supply to cover long term absence up to 12 months for a Grammar school based in Chorlton Manchester. The successful applicant will be resourceful and committed with proven experience in a School / Commercial caretaking role. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all school facilities are in excellent and safe condition with the highest possible standards of cleanliness being maintained for use by students, staff and visitors.

Applicants need to be able to work using their own initiative as well as a being an effective team member. They will need to be adaptable and self-motivated with an outgoing, cooperative and pleasant manner. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out all the responsibilities of a key holder. An ability to carry out practical DIY jobs and effective use of equipment/machinery is essential to carry out the day to day maintenance of the building and its grounds. The candidate will be required to have ‘can do’ attitude with some degree of flexibility as some evenings and weekend work may be required for meetings and events. As the position is to cover long term absence the role maybe last up to 6/12 months or beyond. There may be scope for this position to become a permanent role part on a part time/ fulltime basis in line with a change of circumstances. You must process a drivers’ license and drive a car as you will be required to travel between sites and deliver/ collect resources.
